The problem behind the build

My strength has always been the live, verbal, relational work: the narrative in the room. Turning that into crisp written artifacts was harder, and for much of my career I handed it to someone on the team. I started building AI systems to help convert the conversation into something useful after the conversation ended.

Research, written artifacts and follow-through lived in separate tools and depended on manual handoffs. The issue was larger than producing a better paragraph. The operating model needed to connect the work with its record and make the next action visible.

My contribution

I built an AI operating environment for research, drafting, tracking and capture. That includes choosing models for the task and designing explicit review boundaries around external actions. It brings the task, its record and the next action together.

The principle is the same one I apply to operating models more broadly: simplify decisions and handoffs before adding automation. Model selection belongs inside that design. It is a choice about the work the system needs to do, rather than a substitute for deciding what a useful outcome looks like.

What a walkthrough can establish

A demonstration can show how research becomes a written artifact, how that artifact connects to a task, and where a person reviews an external action. Those are separate questions. A draft is useful evidence of drafting; an action needs its own evidence that it happened.

The outcome described here is a working environment, not a claim of universal automation or a measured productivity gain. The useful next step is to look at a workflow and its boundaries together.

Where this approach fits

My best work combines strategic influence with the opportunity to build. A clear problem, a meaningful place at the decision table and a team willing to rethink the operating model create the conditions for that work.
